What are the benefits of 220Bio™?

Here is a list of benefits:
  1. 220Bio™ fuel burns up to 75% cleaner than conventional diesel fuel made from fossil fuels
  2. 220Bio™ contains no sulphur
  3. 220Bio™ is plant-based and adds no CO2 to the atmosphere
  4. The ozone-forming potential of 220Bio™ emissions is nearly 50% less than conventional diesel fuel
  5. 220Bio™ exhaust is not offensive and doesn't cause eye irritation (it smells like French fries!)
  6. 220Bio™ can be used in any diesel engine
  7. Fuel economy is the same as conventional diesel fuel
  8. 220Bio™ is a much better lubricant than conventional diesel fuel and extends engine life
  9. 220Bio™ can be mixed with ordinary petroleum diesel fuel in any proportion, with no need for a mixing additive.
  10. Even a small amount means cleaner emissions and better engine lubrication: 1% will increase lubricity by up to 65%
  11. 220Bio™ is produced from waste vegetable oil from around Scotland.
  12. The overall ozone (smog) forming potential of biodiesel is almost 50% less than diesel fuel.

Dangers of standard diesel?

Diesel pollution can be deadly, causing premature mortality through cancer or heart and respiratory illnesses. The California Air Resources Board has concluded that diesel soot is responsible for 70% of the state's risk of cancer from airborne toxics. In the population as a whole, studies have shown a 26% increase in mortality in people living in soot-polluted cities.


How does 220Bio™ help?
  1. Substantial reductions of unburned hydrocarbons (-93%), carbon monoxide (-50%), and particulate matter (-30%).
  2. 220Bio™ NOx emissions can be efficiently eliminated as a concern.
  3. Substantial reductions of cancer-causing PAH (-80%) and nitrited PAH compounds (-90%).
  4. Nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions may increase or decrease but can be reduced to well below conventional diesel fuel levels by adjusting engine timing and other means
  5. 220Bio™ has a high cetane rating, which improves engine performance: 20% biodiesel added to conventional diesel fuel improves the cetane rating 3 points, making it a Premium fuel
